Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals

The AHVRP is a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association. It is the premier professional membership society for healthcare volunteer services, retail operations and related support services disciplines. AHVRP provides education, recognition for personal and professional achievements, national networking as well as affiliation and collaboration with the American Hospital Association on public policy and advocacy issues related to healthcare volunteer services and retail operations. AHVRP is the professional association of choice providing leadership to volunteers to ensure a safe health care community.

Junior Auxuliary of Rankin County

Junior Auxiliary is a national non-profit organization that encourages members to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children!

CARING FRIENDS

Project Dates & Times: Members will spend 1-2 hours, once a month with the residents. Nights and weekends are acceptable with prior scheduling through the project chair.

Purpose: To provide entertainment and companionship to physically impaired adults.

How this project works: Members will be responsible for playing games, reading, and interacting with the residents at Methodist Specialty Care Center.

Southeastern Directors of Volunteer Services in Healthcare Organizations

SDVSHO is a non-profit, educational group for Directors of Volunteer Services and Gift Shop Managers in Healthcare Organizations in the Southeast. This group was organized in 1993 to unite Directors of Volunteer Services within an organized structure. The organization was founded to:

  • increase knowledge and improve the skills of individual members.
  • to emphasize the value of qualified directors of volunteer services by establishing and maintaining professional standards and ethics.
  • to be a resource of support and information to directors of volunteer services in the southeast.
  • to attract new persons and retain skilled persons in the field of volunteer services administration.
  • to promote directors of volunteer services as integral members of the health care team.
